Step 1: Trim

Make sure that your horse’s hooves are trimmed according to its individual anatomy.

Our blog has several useful articles that explain what a healthy hoof should be like, and how it can be achieved.

Step 2: Body

Pay attention to your horse’s topline and overall physical condition. Are they experiencing any discomfort that may affect the way they use their legs?

Please address any physical issues before getting on your horse.

Step 4: Maintenance trim

Make sure to offer your horse an anatomically correct weekly trim, so that their hooves stay in the best possible shape and condition at all times. You can learn to do that with our online course at www.holistichoofcareforhorseowners.com/weeklytrim

Step 5: Boot maintenance

The boot material benefits from regular use.

Use water and a brush to clean, and hang to dry and store in a well-ventilated place, like hung up on a wall. Never store Flex Boots in a closed box.
