Jaana has been involved with horses all her life, first doing show jumping and then falling for endurance riding in 2004. Her first endurance horse was a standardbred called Metku, an ex-trotter who was suited to this sport perfectly as he was happy and willing to run – as long as it was straight forward. With Metku Jaana achieved silver medal in Finnish championships in 2010 and competed also abroad in Estonia at FEI level. After Metku retired, her new horse an Arab cross Lasse showed Jaana what Arabians are capable of, and boy was that different! After a challenging start Jaana and Lasse started competing and managed to get to an international level, having best performance in Estonia FEI** 80k race.
At the moment Jaana is training and competing two young geldings, Arabian Laku and Shagya-Arab KP. Both boys are in middle of novice qualifications on 80k distance. Slowly but surely they are gaining speed and stamina, and Jaana is aiming for international level to 120k races in the future years with them. All Jaana’s horses live in an open stable as a herd and are barefoot and bitless.
